St. Anthony Catholic Church has a plethora of groups and organizations dedicated to worship, community service, and education. Adult Faith Formation-RCIA
RCIA is a program for those adults (18 and older) who would like to become Catholic. Classes begin in September of each year and conclude at the Easter Vigil. Classes meet on Tuesday evenings at the Padua Center at 7:00 pm. St. Anthony Parish Council of Catholic Women (CCW)
As part of the National and Joliet Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, St. Anthony CCW is dedicated to educate and empower ALL catholic women in spirituality, leadership, and service. Through shared activities and meetings St. Anthony CCW members offer prayerful support for one another and organize acts of service for our parish and all those in need. All women 18 years and older of the parish are welcomed members. An active member is one who pays annual $5 dues and participates in events. Meetings and programs along with hospitality are held September-May on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 P.M. in Memenas Hall. Tuesday Morning Rosary and Scripture Group meets every Tuesday at 9:30 am at the Padua Center. If you would like to join us, please call the Parish Office at 815-469-3750.
The Homebound Ministers visit the sick upon request to receive the Eucharist. Please call our Parish Office to schedule a visit or for more information.
St. Anthony Knights of Columbus
The Knights meet on the second and fourth Tuesday every month at 7:30 pm in the St. Anthony Hall. The Knights help at parish functions such as the church picnic and their annual pancake breakfast. Contact Richard Hoch at email@example.com for more information.
St. Anthony Pro-Life Rosary Group
St. Anthony Pro-Life meets the second Monday of the Month at 7:00 pm at the Padua Center and pray the Rosary for Life for the unborn. Call Roger Leggero if you are interested in joining at 815-464-0875.
WOW (Widow or Widowers)
St. Anthony WOW provides the next step in emotional and social support after losing your spouse. After you have gone through those difficult first stages of grief and are ready to face life again, you sometimes find it is difficult to go out with the friends you’ve had all your life. Our group gives widows or widowers of all faiths a chance to socialize with others in the same situation. Our many activities allow you to choose the things you enjoy doing while making lasting friendship. WOW meets on the 2nd Friday of each month at 7:30 pm. Some of the many events WOW organizes is: Saturday Breakfast- on the 3rd of every month, members get together in smaller groups for breakfast. Friendship Dinners Out- signups are held at the meetings, but if you’re unable to attend a meeting, you can make reservations by phone or email. WOW Annual Picnic- held the last Sunday in June and is open to present and past WOW members and their adult guests. Mystery Book Club- meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 11:30 am at a local restaurant. We enjoy lunch and then the book discussion. Members take turns choosing a book and leading the meeting. Christmas Party- early December with a delicious meal, music and a few door prizes. WOW Walkers- members meet at The Oaks in Mokena to walk at 10:00 a.m. Keeping fit is important and it’s more fun with friends!
The St. Anthony Seniors meet monthly on Wednesdays for meetings, to play bingo, and much more. This group is open to all Seniors! Please contact Pat Backus at 708-720-9321 for more information.
Sew n Sews
The Sew N Sews meet on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 am in the St. Anthony Hall and make all their beautiful handmade crafts for the church. Call Ann Wator at 815-469-5696 if you are interested in this rewarding ministry.
St. Vincent de Paul-Outreach
The Outreach ministry coordinates events such as the monthly food drives, yearly coat drive, Annual Easter Baskets Giving Tree, Christmas Giving Tree, and other collections. Youth Ministry (YM Rock)
Youth Ministry is a group consisting of youth from 6th to 12th grade. Typically meetings are held twice a month on Sunday evenings but currently the group is in a rebuilding phase. Please contact St. Anthony for more information.
Holy Spirit Prayer Group
The power of the Holy Spirit lies within each one of us and needs to be brought to light in our everyday lives. The St. Anthony Parish Holy Spirit Prayer Group offers the opportunity to learn more about living life under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through weekly prayer group meetings and Life in the Spirit Seminars. Come and learn about the how the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are within you can help you become a more active member of the Body of Christ at St. Anthony Parish and the outside community. Our weekly prayer group meetings are held on Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm at the Padua Center and are open to everyone who would like to join us and grow spiritually through praise, prayer, scripture and spiritually enriching music.
